Easter Eggs at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm
18th Apr 2014
The long weekend is finally here and we’re looking forward to welcoming lots of families to Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm over the next few special days. This Easter we’ve got lots of treats lined up for animals and visitors alike.
Noah’s Easter Egg Hunt takes place on Saturday ahead of Easter Sunday and will delight adults and children as they search for eggs around our Easter trail. Running throughout the day, you can collect your sheet from the Ticket Office at any time and then pick up your prize between 3pm and 4pm in the Education Room (next to the Gift Shop)!
There’s also novelty games and Easter crafts to get stuck into on Saturday – the competitive types should be at the picnic area by the Trampolines and Welly Splash Pool at 12.30pm sharp to battle it out in the ultimate Easter game – the Egg and Spoon Race. Arts and crafts are running in the Education Room from 3pm to 4pm, with an Easter theme making it a perfect opportunity to make some gifts for Sunday. It’s not just our visitors who will be getting into the Easter spirit as our largest resident will also be having her very own giant Easter egg.
Make sure to swing by Elephant Eden to see beautiful Buta, an African elephant, getting a huge Easter treat. Specially made for elephants, her egg will have hay and elephant treats stashed inside the holes of the ‘shell’. Our first elephant at the largest purpose-built elephant home in northern Europe has settled in really well and will soon be joined by a familiar face – Nissim, one of her herd at Knowsley Safari Park where she came to us from. Over the Easter weekend make sure to stop by our Animal Show Pens and Animal Village where you can get close to lots of animals. There are lambs to bottle feed, horses to stroke, goats and camels to feed and rabbits and chicks to hold and pet.
We’ve also got new lemur arrivals, little babies swinging around and exploring the world, and you can check out our happy family of South American Lowland Tapirs ahead of World Tapir Day next weekend. If you enjoy visiting these animals, don’t forget that here at Noah's Ark we also offer the chance to have even more memorable experiences with our lovely animals.
Our Primates and Small Mammals Keeper experience will give you the unique opportunity to have a hands-on experience feeding Lemurs, Siamang Gibbons and Meerkats, as well as finding out lots more about these fascinating creatures. You’ll get the chance to meet and greet our Rhinos, Tapirs and Giraffe in the Big Zoo Animals experience – getting stuck in cleaning out the Rhino dens, feeding the magnificent animals and getting introduced to how we carry out health checks and enrichment activities.
And if you want to keep the Noah’s Ark magic alive at home, our Animal Adoption packs not only have a cuddly soft toy of the animal you’ll be adopting, but you’ll also get your name displayed at the exhibit and get a free zoo ticket to have a great family day out visiting your animal.
