A new town in Somerset

A group of Prairie Dogs has arrived at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm. These cute little ground-dwelling squirrels are native to Mexico and the United States. These rodents live in large colony groups known as towns. Group members form close family bonds and greet each other with Prairie Dog kisses and nuzzles. They form extensive burrows underground to provide safe areas to sleep at night and to give birth to their young. Prairie Dogs will spend most of the day above ground feeding on various grasses. Young pups are very playful and often spend their time play fighting with the other pups.
