Access for All at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm
29th Jan 2013
Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is already an award winning zoo and last night we added to our list. We were up for no less than four awards at the Bristol Tourism and Hospitality 2012 awardslast night at the Bristol Marriott hotel in the city centre.
Noah's Ark Zoo Farm won an award for accessibility
Our nominations included:
- Access for All (Winner)
- Sustainable Tourism (Finalist)
- Attractions Team of the Year (Finalist along with the Noah’s Ark Buildings Team)
- Individual Customer Service of the year- Attractions (Finalist David (‘Dav’) Bennett of Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm)
We are delighted to say that we won the Access for All award which recognises tourism businesses that have excelled in providing access for all visitors, particularly people with impairments and other physical and sensory access needs. For an attraction such as ourselves to win the award we had to be signed up to the Code of Practice for Visitor attractions or be part of the VAQAS standard.
Entries had to demonstrate exceptional customer service to all and stand out for their Access Plan/Strategy. A number of accommodation providers, visitor attractions and restaurants were eligible for this award so we were delighted to beat off some stiff competition. And you can come and find out what all the fuss is about for yourself! Our winter break is now over and we reopen on Saturday, February 2. That’s your chance to join us and see how work is going on the new Elephant Eden, meet new arrivals or even go one-on-one with our exciting keeper experiences.
