Baby Zebra

2012 has been a great year for animal births at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm with Zagnatius the zebra now joining George the giraffe. Zagnatius was born on Saturday, August 11, and quickly found common ground with his playmate George, who also originally comes from Africa.

George was born in June at the zoo in Wraxall, just outside of Bristol, and did not take long to find his feet alongside father Gerald and mum Genny. Zag's parents are mum Zelda and dad Zebedee. It was soon a case of happy families mixing together in the wide fields of Noah’s Ark, and they will be joined by another baby zebra, Zig, who is due to be born later this month. Zig and Zag will live together with baby George the giraffe, and their respective parents in the African section of the zoo. They are named after a popular 90s children's TV puppet show on The Big Breakfast.

If you want to learn more about these incredible animals, Noah's Ark Zoo Farm is running daily giraffe feeding talks at lunchtime. The zoo is open Monday to Saturday 10:30am-5pm. For more information about the animals, entry prices and events visit the zoo website (link) or phone 01275 852606.
