Making the Most of a Half Term Trip to Noah’s Ark

It’s half term week, and it’s great to see the zoo buzzing with people enjoying themselves in the sunshine. As always, our big zoo animals and adventure play areas are proving popular with our visitors, as well as our daily events and activities such as tractor rides, keeper talks and animal displays. With so much to see and do, it’s a real challenge to experience absolutely everything at Noah’s Ark all in one day, so here are a couple of highlights you should definitely try not to miss if you’re visiting us over half term. The Big Cats Tiana and Khan are our Bengal tigers. These majestic beasts are under threat in the wild, as they are poached for their fur and their bones, which are considered a potent ingredient in traditional Asian medicine. Noah’s Ark is also home to two lions - Zulu and Masai, and two lionesses - Arusha and Wilma. Our lions arrived in 2010, and were joined by the lionesses in 2013. Our big cats have a wonderful life here at Noah’s Ark, and they are among the most popular animals for our visitors. If you pay them a visit over half term and decide you want a more personal, close-up encounter with them next time, we also offer a unique Big Cat Experience, which enables animal lovers to take part in feeding and enrichment activities for both lions and tigers, under the supervision of our expert keepers.

Wallaby Hill Adventure Playground Head to the Wallaby Hill Adventure Playground when the kids need to burn off some energy. It’s got everything from zip lines to climbing walls, rope bridges to slides, and even a giant Noah’s Ark to explore.

When all the running, climbing, and sliding gets too much, the kids can move on to the Bigger Diggers near the big cat sanctuary, where they can take the controls of a stationary digger and see if a career in construction beckons!

Booking Online One great way to make the most of your time at Noah’s Ark is to book your tickets online. Not only do you get 5% off the standard ticket prices, but pre-booking also enables you to breeze through the ticket office without getting caught up in the queues on the busiest days in the school holidays (fast tracking system is in place on bank holidays and busiest holidays subject to management decision). The time you save by not waiting in line means more time spent with our wonderful animals!
