Nativity fever

10th Dec 2015

It’s true that we are well into the swing of the festive season, and whilst some of us may be suffering from flus and fevers as the frost begins to bite, here at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm we’ve caught a different kind of fever – Nativity Fever. That’s right, it’s the month of December and that means we’re kicking off with two Saturday’s worth of nativity performances.

Our nativities are included in standard Day Ticket admission, which is 20% discounted this month! But these aren't your standard traditional Nativities – we’ve given them the Noah’s Ark twist to really make this a fun, enjoyable and interactive experience for all. Saturday 12th December saw crowds enjoy a fully interactive edition of the festive spectacle. Visitors took part in this unique production, with children from the audience stepping forward and taking their place centre stage.

As well as visitors enjoying their very own 15 minutes of fame, this production was narrated and featured a special performance from the award-winning choir at St Peter’s School, Portishead. The performance began at 2:30pm, with visitors delighted to meet the reindeer before they take to the stage outside the Ark Arena.

This Saturday 19th, the last weekend before Christmas, we’ll be putting on two very special versions of the Christmas story. Both plays will be performed by a group from Nailsea Baptist Church, with the first performance kicking off at 12:30pm followed by the second at 2:30pm – but again we would love to see you come here earlier to meet the reindeer.

These are more traditional versions of the play, with members of the public encouraged to sit back and let the adult and teenage dramatics group from the church do all the work, entertaining visitors young and old. Of course, we encourage you to sing-a-long with the carols again to get into the Christmas mood! As usual, we'll have live animals and a real baby to play the central role of Jesus. At both Nativities, you’ll have the chance to donate to a fantastic cause this Christmas: the Crisis Centre in Bristol, which provides food for the region’s homeless whilst also helping people get back into employment through the development of key skills and providing them with job opportunities.

Every donated penny counts, especially at this time of year when being homeless can often be the most devastating. So what are you waiting for? Come along and get into the Christmas spirit with us here at Noah’s Ark. We’ve 20% off all day ticket admissions right through to the end of January; and if you’re really beginning to struggle when it comes gifts, we also offer a range of experiences that make the perfect presents – from Keeper Experiences, Animal Adoptions to memberships and day tickets, which can be bought over the phone or online.
