Noah's Ark in 2013

The New Year sees a whole array of new events planned at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm. In 2013 our huge outdoor zoo will have a longer open season than we’ve ever operated before. The countdown has started to the reopening on Saturday February 2nd. This unique zoo will then welcome visitors from Monday to Saturday until November 30th before moving to Saturday opening times until January 25th. This year we will only be closed for two weekends on December 21st & 28th.

In 2012 we sold thousands of online tickets which enabled excited visitors to beat the queues at the gate and also buy tickets for family and friends. Last year the Keeper Experiences proved incredibly popular with options to meet and feed a wide range of animals including lions, tigers, tapirs and primates. Towards the end of 2012 we launched new Junior Keeper Experienceswhich make a great birthday gift for youngsters who are sure to have a memorable time. Adoption Boxes are now available on the Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm website and they have many features such as a soft toy representation of your animal and having your name displayed at the animal exhibit. These also make wonderful gifts. In 2013 we are continuing our commitment to providing educational school trips and the zoo is reapplying for the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge which we’ve held for two years already.

Visitors will find that new workshops and an updated Education Program for schools make learning a fun, hands-on experience. This year will be a momentous one at the zoo with Elephant Eden set to open later this summer. Elephant Eden will be a fully sustainable elephant sanctuary for displaced elephants and the largest of its kind in Europe. It’s been very hard, but very rewarding work getting it ready! We will also have a new lemur enclosure (due for completion this Spring) and an outdoor tortoise habitat. So come and celebrate the New Year with us when we reopen on February 2nd and you can meet some of our new animals including new female capybara and rare exotic coloured frogs.
