September at the Zoo
A Guide to What's On at the Zoo This September
Although the long days of hot weather and ice cream might be drawing to a close, here at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm we are excited for the slightly cooler weather of September and all the things we have planned for the autumn season! As the leaves begin to turn golden brown and crispy, and the cosy hot drinks start flowing, our attention is also turning to our local community. This September Noah’s Ark is running several schemes and events to facilitate different groups of local people, with the aim of providing them with a brilliant, memorable, and accessible day out. Just six miles from Bristol, we are the only zoo in the local area and are home to over 500 species of animals, as well as indoor and outdoor adventure play areas, cafés, and a farm shop! We can’t wait to welcome visitors from the community, as well as from far and wide this September!
Pensioner Tuesday
Throughout September, pensioners age 65+ who visit Noah’s Ark on a Tuesday will be eligible for heavily discounted tickets to the zoo, as well as 10% off food and drinks from our main café, and 10% off hot drinks and pastries from the Farm Shop. There will be a social table set up in the café so that those attending the event can sit with others if they wish!
Visitors can enjoy a tranquil meander around our 100 acres of beautiful Somerset countryside - only six miles from Bristol. You can see the zoo animals on a quieter day with friends or family, and we have a number of fascinating keeper talks for you to listen to around the site! Our friendly team will also be happy to answer any questions or queries you may have.
This scheme will be happening every Tuesday from 6th September to 11th October. There are several ways to claim this discounted rate. Either use the code Pensioner10 at checkout when purchasing concessionary tickets online or simply ask for a Pensioner Tuesday ticket when arriving at the zoo on a Tuesday whilst the offer is running.
NHS and Blue Light Card Discounts
From September we are now offering a discount to NHS and Blue Light Card holder visitors! The 5% discount can be obtained when using the code BLUELIGHT22! for pre-booking tickets. The discount is valid for adult, child, and concessionary day tickets.
Please note, this discount is available for online ticket purchases only and visitors must bring along valid NHS or Blue Light Card ID on arrival at the zoo.
Jungle Tots is Back!
As Term time begins again, so does our Jungle Tots Parent and Toddler Group. Taking place every Monday and Wednesday between 10:30am and 12:00pm during term time, these sessions are designed to give under 5s a fun morning of soft play, crafts, animal handling and story time.
Every Jungle Tots session provides a fun and sociable place for children and adults to meet and make friends. There’s always time for play in the Jungle Den soft play area, a craft activity, story time and a chance to meet one of our friendly animals!
Home Educator Days
We have two Home Educator Events running in September that will be focusing on the five senses, and the diversity of senses in the animal kingdom. From a Giraffe’s tastebuds to a Python’s infra-red vision, this is a chance to learn about all the weird and wacky ways that animals explore the world around them! These events will be taking place on Tuesday 27th September and Friday 30th September, and there is also the option to book onto a hands-on workshop where you can get up close with the animals.
Late Entry Tickets
Looking for something to do after the school day is over, or just a fancy a later afternoon trip? Our late entry tickets allow you entry from 3pm for just £10. With the zoo closing at 5pm, this discounted ticket allows for a perfect amount of time to have a quick explore of all our animals or make use of our extensive indoor and outdoor play areas.
September at the Farm Shop
Our Farm Shop stocks an array of fabulous products from local suppliers including chutneys, jams, sauces, cakes, biscuits, chocolates, cheeses, and much more. It also has fresh bread and pastries baked in the Farm Kitchen each morning, delicious chef-made ready meals, and of course teas and coffees. This September you can also expect to see lots of seasonal produce, including fresh harvest vegetables and fruit. As October is just around the corner, pumpkins will be available from the end of this month, and other tasty Halloween snacks will make their arrival in the Farm Shop, too!
