UK’s largest Elephant Habitat to open in July at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm
23rd May 2013
One of the most luxurious elephant habitats in northern Europe, Elephant Eden is set to be the most ambitious south-west tourist attraction in 2013. The 20 acre site will offer an amazing opportunity for visitors to witness these majestic animals up close. With a purpose-built elephant house, bathing pool, grass fields for grazing, woodland and even mud wallows, this beautiful environment provides a rich visitor experience whilst providing significantly more space to roam and welfare improvements. World-leading Elephant Consultant Alan Roocroft, who helped design the state-of-the-art elephant house – has described the project as a ‘five star hotel for elephants’. The zoo has recruited experienced Elephant Keeper Sandra de Rek, who has arrived from Holland to begin preparations for the arrival of the elephants, which are hoped to include both Asian and African species.
Visitors will be able to get an exclusive preview of the attraction during the May Half Term, making this an ideal half-term activity. Tours start on the 27th May and run daily throughout the week at 1:45pm. The first Elephants are planned to arrive in July making Noah’s Ark ideal the perfect day out with the kids during the summer holiday. Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm has confirmed that the popular Animal Adoptions and even Keeper Experiences will extend to Elephants very soon, making ideal gift ideas for elephant lovers.
